ArtyType is the brainchild of designer and illustrator James Marsh. All the fonts are designed by James. Typespec assist with production and they process the online sales transactions too. Read more about James & ArtyType here.

What formats do the fonts come in?

All desktop fonts are available in OpenType OTF format, some also come in TrueType TTF format. You can check specific details on each product page. Our webfont packs include WOFF, WOFF2 & EOT formats.

Do I have to host the webfonts myself?

Yes. Webfonts are sold on a self-hosted basis. Payment is a one-time fee, not a monthly or annual arrangement.

Can I test-drive the fonts before buying?

Yes, absolutely. Simply go to our font index page and put the fonts through their paces or try the fonts on each individual shop page. Please note that italics aren't in the test drive utility but can be viewed in each downloadable PDF specimen. The font tester app is still in beta and will eventually also include OT features & alternates.

Does each font have the same character set?

No, each font family varies, some have more extensive language support, OpenType features, figure sets, alternates etc. PDF specimens showing each font’s character set can be downloaded for reference.

Desktop fonts come with an automatic 5 user/device licence, webfonts with a basic 10K pageview licence. Larger desktop and web licences can be arranged, as well as non-standard app embedding and server licence agreements. Read more on the licensing page.
